The Network Clinical Director-Nursing acts as a network-wide practice leader maintaining service line oversight, clinical management, operational direction, and leadership for areas of responsibility. Serves as the leader as it relates to daily operations, personnel supervision, staff development, physician relationships, driving quality initiatives and cost control. Leads the implementation of service line strategic plans and program development. Maintains a broad scope of responsibility spanning a minimum of two departments, approximately 120 staff members and a network-wide service line. Responsible for strategic oversight over all network sites to drive systemness, decreased variation in care, and improved safety and quality for our patients. Responsible for hospital physician relationship/collaboration and meeting/exceeding performance metrics. Provides leadership and guidance to both management and staff in advanced practice roles. Acts as a tactical point person and knowledge expert as it relates to patient care. Assures evidence-based patient care by creating an environment that encourages the use of research in practice.

All RN staff who have direct responsibility for the care of stroke patients must have knowledge of:

* Stroke symptoms and warning signs

* Protocols and pathways used to identify, evaluate and management of stroke patients

* NIHSS and Modified Rankin Stroke scales

* Code Brain activation and protocol

* Stroke quality indicators

* Available stroke patient education materials and community resources

* Educational requirements

* Stroke Center website resources.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Graduated from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution. All staff who have direct responsibility for the care of stroke patients must have eight (8) hours of initial stroke specific education and meet unit specific annual stroke education requirements.

EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years in nursing, three (3) years supervisory with one (1) year clinical director level responsibility.


Licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) training course C.
