    Qualifications

    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field Required

    Experience
    Five (5) years’ in direct patient care ambulatory or hospital setting Required
    Two (2) years’ Ambulatory coding and/or documentation Improvement Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Current and valid State of Arizona or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) license Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    he Risk Analyst will improve the overall quality and completeness of ambulatory concurrent and retrospective documentation through the application of evidence-based knowledge, analysis, in-depth review, interpretation, identification of opportunities, communication, and training. In addition, the Risk Analyst will interact with ambulatory physicians, providers, and practice teams in coordination with coding and other healthcare teams to capture appropriate conditions for quality and risk documentation for ambulatory patients and associated encounters.
    • Establishes cooperative and multidisciplinary relationships with physicians, providers, practices, quality, coding, and other health team members including accuracy and completeness of ambulatory documentation for patient care & outcomes, compliance, quality & risk capture, and analyses & reporting. Performs concurrent and retrospective ambulatory documentation review based on evidence-based knowledge, protocols, and criteria.
    • Develops, implements and provides formal and informal education and training programs related to documentation opportunities for coding & reimbursement, compliance, quality & risk capture, and performance improvement methodologies for physicians providers practice teams, and other related to ambulatory documentation.
    • Establish and maintain a presence within the physician and provider structure, rounding in practices. Participates as a member of committees and work groups related to ambulatory documentation, compliance, quality & risk capture as required.
    • Communicates and interacts with physicians, providers, practices and others through verbal and written communication tools, observations, and recommendations to improve the overall quality and completeness of ambulatory documentation.
    • Analyzes, summarizes, and documents outcomes of documentation improvement process for re-evaluation of ongoing program revisions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
