    Job Summary
    Working in A dyad leadership structures with a physician leader for Women's Services the ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT WOMEN'S AND INFANT'S SERVICES (AVP) leads the service line and is responsible for assuring outstanding clinical quality, service excellence, operating performance, market presence, competitiveness and profitability. Works in a collaborative manner with nursing, operational, and administrative leadership. The AVP, working in the dyad leadership model, is responsible for business strategy, planning, physician relationships, program development, operations (matrixed with facility leadership), and quality and performance improvement for Obstetrical, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecological, and Neonatal health care and services across the organization. Develops the service line strategic plan, including goals, outcomes and deliverables, operational and capital budgets, and supports process to develop clinical pathways, guidelines and care management across the care continuum. Determines new business opportunities and works with Network and Hospital management to make decisions regarding campus-specific location for key services and growth.

    • Business Strategy/Business Planning -
      Provides leadership in the development and enhancement of Network women’s and infant’s programs and services across the continuum of care. Works collaboratively with facility, ambulatory, and clinical integration network leadership to help accomplish this goal.
      Directs development and implementation, and monitors outcomes, of the service line strategic plans that address both short and long-term growth and performance
      Assesses competitive market for regional services and recommends potential opportunities and strategies in collaboration with Service Line Operating Council, and Network Service Line executive oversight team.
      Identifies, evaluates, determines appropriateness, and implements new programs and activities focused on quality improvement, safety improvement, consumer experience improvement, revenue generation, and/or service expansion.
      Projects physician talent and provider needs, and works with physicians to execute alignment, recruitment and coverage models that improve patient care, support network strategies, and help sustain the success of service line physicians/providers.
    • Performance Improvement -
      Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates performance improvement, to support the organization's mission, strategic initiatives and operational priorities
      Abstracts, analyzes, interprets and presents data to identify opportunities and support project goals.
      Effectively uses performance improvement tools and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
      Works closely with clinical integration network leaders to ensure collaborative work to decrease costs and improve quality across the care continuum
      Responsible for a high quality patient experience and overall satisfaction. Works collaboratively with Patient Experience team toward that end.
    • Physician/Relationship Development -
      Develops and maintains strong working relationships with service line physicians to achieve collaborative operational, strategic and quality initiatives
      Plans, organizes and directs activities to improve local and regional relationships to retain and grow physician volume
      Works to create high quality of care processes and desired measurable outcomes.
      Regularly communicates and interacts with physicians on key discussions. Seeks out physician input and keeps them informed of project status, etc.
      Develops and recommends physician-alignment models throughout network that leverage physician talent and resources, with goal being to optimize physician engagement and service line success.
      Ensures development and maintenance of strong referring physician relationships
    • Program Development -
      Identifies business opportunities based on research and analysis of the Network, and of each facility, including concept development & analysis; preparing volume and financial projections; working with operations on program implementation
      Oversees and manages joint ventures and/or physician alignment models (e.g. co-management) for the designated network entities
      Manages operating boards and facilitates committee work to achieve metrics. Works with facility operations leaders toward this goal, with defined operational responsibilities and accountabilities.
      Facilitates data analysis and provides transparent processes for physician leaders to engage in continuous improvement efforts
      Develops and oversees annual operating plans, operating budgets and capital budgets for the applicable service line programs
      Collaborates with Network leaders to ensure an efficient Women’s and Infant’s delivery system
    • Operations -
      Develops pro formas for new services
      Monitors financial performance for key services
      Responsible for budgeting, and ongoing monitoring of performance
      Oversees daily management system across all areas at all sites
      Works with Network Contracting team to optimize payer contracts relevant to Women and Infant’s services
      Keeps abreast of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reimbursement, billing, payroll, and records management
      Creates and disseminates reporting tool to senior management and key stakeholders that includes revenue, performance to budget, and quality.
