    Qualifications

    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Health Care related field. Required

    Experience
    5 years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare environment

    Required
    3 years leading people, programs, or teams. Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Knowledge of complex abstraction and analysis of clinical data, and utilization of applications, collection tools and large databases to support these efforts. Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of clinical data and the ability to measure and analyze clinical performance results. Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    This position is responsible for leading a network-wide clinical data abstraction program including data collection, data submission, and data integrity practices to ensure regulatory and accreditation reporting compliance. Responsibilities include participating in and/or leading specific system-wide data abstraction to enhance the organization's clinical excellence. Oversees the work of the clinical data abstraction program and staff assigned, leads and facilitates abstraction and distribution of data to regulatory entities as well as leadership, medical staff, service lines, collaborative, and/or clinical areas as appropriate. Works with external vendors and agencies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of system clinical performance data. Provides subject matter expertise of regulatory and accreditation reporting requirements including CMS pay for performance programs and communicates with key stakeholders about changes, impact, and deficiencies. Works within the timelines or reporting as established by accrediting parties.
    • Leads clinical data abstraction staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values.
    • Plans and directs the abstraction, reporting and presentation of clinical data to meet regulatory requirements and the organization’s strategic initiatives. This includes managing the contracts for abstraction, development of the infrastructure for abstraction and reporting of system and facility outcomes.
    • Assures that clinical data abstractors have the skills to review and abstract key data elements, enter appropriate data in the databases, evaluate and improve data integrity.
    • Leads / Collaborates with teams assigned to support system network clinical performance improvement efforts. Presenting data analysis and consultation to support decisions about the direction and strategies of the company.
    • Working with internal resources, external vendors and agencies on application systems, product enhancements, benchmarking data and ad hoc projects.
    • Maintains expertise and acts as a resource in clinical database requirements for CMS, DNV, cardiovascular related registries accreditation requirement, and other facility/system clinical initiatives.
