    Qualifications

    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Graduated from an accredited institution. Required
    Other All staff who have direct responsibility for the care of stroke patients,
    please refer to the addendum for stroke specific education
    requirements. Required

    Experience
    2 years of operations, nursing and/or financial management for inpatient or outpatient specialty departments; one (1) year supervisory experience. Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
    Registered Nurse (RN) State And/Or Compact State Licensure Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    This position is responsible for the administrative leadership for all inpatient departments that report to or collaborate with the neuroscience service line. The Director is accountable for the overall performance of inpatient neuroscience operations and is accountable for the highest level of quality, service, efficiency, volumes and overall financial performance. Works collaboratively with the respective Executives and Physician leaders to lead the development of strategies, goals, operational and capital budgets in supporting the development of best practice and clinical guidelines. Leads related quality reporting and accreditation activities to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within this area of operations. Provides direction and holds accountable assigned leadership team (clinical and non-clinical) in the delivery of day to day clinical and business operations.

    This position provides direction and serves as program leader for a variety of Neuroscience inpatient operations across the network; including but not limited to oversight of stroke management and coordinators, participate in the development of neurology stroke strategy, engage neurohospitalists, collaborate with neuro critical care, serve as the direct report for Neuro Physician Assistants, collaborate with electroneurodiagnostic department. This role partners with other leaders to ensure all programs within the Neuroscience Institute and hospitals are operational and meeting the demands of all disciplines, metrics, quality, and patient experience. The Director of Inpatient Neurosciences serves as a business partner in the planning and operation phases of the Neuroscience Institute and collaborates with the Outpatient Director of Neurosciences to develop the continuum of care.

    This position provides business leadership through facilitation of practices and programs supporting the Neuroscience performance and service line and reports to the Associate Vice President of Neurosciences.

    • Provides administrative leadership for inpatient practices that report to the neuroscience service line. Directs operations of departments, assists with staffing recruitment, contracting, program development and support physician initiatives. Analyzes financial reports and implements operational changes to optimize practice performance and to meet financial expectations.
    • Works with Leadership to develop, maintain and deliver on performance metrics and analytics. Serves in a consulting role. Provides the design and implementation of best practices, streamlining referral linkages across the continuum of care, improving patient access and assessing the need for process improvement within inpatient areas. Assist in developing focused marketing and business development strategies. Partners with Medical Directors, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to understand strategy and collaboration with the Neuroscience Institute. Facilitates the development of centers of excellence and other program certifications, accreditations and distinctions for the neuroscience program, which foster the most effective and efficient delivery of high quality patient care
    • Oversees the staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity quality of work and aligning of goals with network mission, vision and values. Ensures compliance with all polices, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budgets.
    • Develops business plans, capital proposals, and ensures compliance with appropriate regulations. Focus on increasing revenue and decreasing expenses. Oversees the financial performance of departments in cooperation with the office staff, physicians and Billing Team. Collaborates with leaders/managers of departments that integrate into the service line to ensure that all areas in financial planning have been taken into consideration.
    • Oversees the quality of operations including supporting and participating in compliance with DNV licensing requirements, patient satisfaction studies and quality assurance studies as needed. Supports training and preparing practice sites for ADHS initial and subsequent licensure inspections and on-going compliance. Works with staff on integrating quality assurance studies and benchmarks in the departments.
