This role is central to helping achieve organizational strategies to eliminate infection related healthcare associated harm and thrive in a value based purchasing environment. Provides operational direction and management for organization wide infection prevention and control programs. Develops, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive programs and projects and provides consultation to leadership, medical staff, and external customers to strengthen network performance in infection prevention and control, including the inpatient and outpatient environment. Initiates/leads necessary improvements to ensure high levels of performance and continual compliance with applicable infection prevention and control standards. Responsible for the productivity and effectiveness of the infection prevention and control team. Supports initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance and external agency review. Ensures adherence to CDC/NHSN requirements for HAI submissions and optimal CMS Value-Based Purchasing and HAC Reduction program performance.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in nursing or healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years in acute-care infection control within the last eight (8) years. Familiarity with NHSN/CDC and the VBP requirements as relates to infection prevention and control. Quality improvement activities as part of work experience.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Certification in Infection Control.
