    Qualifications

    Education
    High School Diploma or GED High School Diploma or GED
    Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiography program or US military Radiography training program or Completion of an accredited training program and certifications based on modality specialty.
    Required

    Experience
    1 year Mammography experience. Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Radiology\AART(R) - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists Required
    AZ license from Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE)
    ARRT Mammography (M) certification
    Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider course.

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    Leads, coordinates and monitors performance of all technical staff and workflow for scheduled shifts. Uses sound, independent judgment to handle daily department operations and workflow in cooperation with staff, physicians, and coworkers across departments. Serves as a clinical and technical resource for patients, physicians, coworkers, and administration. Participates in department management activities and projects as needed. Exemplifies behaviors consistent with HonorHealth's core values. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, including the application of prescribed ionizing radiation for Mammography, DEXA Scanning, and interventional procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas, and procedures as required. Performs image quality assurance and data entry operations using appropriate hospital software packages. Percentage of time spent performing tasks may vary with departmental staffing needs. Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictate.
    • Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, protocols procedure with radiologist as needed. Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment. Performs Mammography, DEXA, and interventional procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by procedure protocols. Utilizes RIS, PACS, Mammography reporting software, and other ancillary image management systems as needed.
    • Works under direction of supervisor to plan, schedule, and coordinate daily workflow for the department’s activities.
    • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed
    • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates
    • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed. Initiates, or assists supervisor, with minor staff reward or disciplinary.
    • Assists supervisor in awards and disciplinary action as appropriate. Acts in an advisory capacity during staff evaluations.
    • Participates in leading, coordinating and monitoring Mammography staff department orientation, modality training, competency assessment, and in servicing staff on new equipment, as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
