    Experience
    1 year hospital or physician office medical record experience. Required
    Other Release of information guidelines, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, CMS guidelines. Required
    Other Ability to read English language
    Ability to write English language

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    The MEDICAL RECORDS PROCESSOR I maintains patient records in an electronic environment, provides copies upon request, mails or faxes appropriate documents to outside physician offices and patients, files documents as appropriate.
    • Maintain patient records by retrieving and filing pertinent documents into electronic database and patient charting. Ensures patient charts are complete and all test results are received, routed appropriately and filed, prepping encounters for upcoming appointments, downloading dictation and loading into the appropriate.
    • Copy and mail or fax documents to appropriate outside physician offices, patients, or other entities. For patient record requests, ensure appropriate regulatory guidelines for the release of records are followed. File reports and relevant documents into medical record. Pull charts for upcoming office visits. Arrange for shipment or delivery of records to off-site storage as necessary. Print office fee slips as required. Scan all loose information into appropriate system. Prep charts for audits and scheduling time for reviews.
    • Assist or perform various office related duties, such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, processing mail, entering data into computer systems, and greeting patients. Troubleshoot computer problems or problems with dictations or downloads. Maintain office supply inventory.
    • Other related duties as assigned or requested.
