    Qualifications

    Education
    Other Graduate degree in nursing or a related specialty. If graduate degree is not in nursing, then the baccalaureate degree must be in nursing from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution Required

    Experience
    5 years Adult care setting as a direct care RN Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Registered Nurse (RN) State And/Or Compact State Licensure Nursing\RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure Required
    National Nursing Certification in area of specialty. 1 Year Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    The Network Clinical Development and Outcomes Director (CDO) guides the clinical education and performance of licensed and unlicensed clinical personnel across the HonorHealth Network. The CDO is accountable to the Nurse Executive Council for the ongoing development of all system and unit-based educators and for disseminating leading practices and standard work across the network. The CDO provides expertise as a systems thinker, educator, consultant, facilitator, mentor, and change agent. The CDO fosters a culture of inquiry and continuous learning by integrating education, training, performance and quality outcomes into all Center projects, to include on-boarding, nurse residency and specialty care academy curricula, and continuing education activities. The CDO advances clinical care through ongoing surveillance of clinician learning needs, patient safety trends, emerging clinical research and literature, quality outcome indicators, and compliance with regulatory / accreditation standards.

    • STRUCTURAL EMPOWERMENT
      Contributes and works collaboratively with division and facility education team to support hospital wide improvement in meeting core measures, patient safety, and service excellence goals through clinical education.
      Collaborates with Workforce Development and Talent Acquisition, Information Technology, and Clinical Leaders to review outcomes data and refine educational activities, as appropriate.
      Assesses practice gaps, identifies learning needs and provides resources and education to implement changes. Plans educational content delivery through learner engagement and aligns with organizations policies and procedures.
      Understands adult educational theory and applies to the development of educational programs
      Utilizes novice to expert continuum when developing staff
      Provides expertise in identifying professional development needs of individual staff and assists staff to career advancement resources
      Executes tasks and behaves in a manner consistent with Just Culture concepts.
      Advances a culture of compliance, safety and a high reliability organization and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
      Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention. Promotes cost effectiveness through implementation of efficient orientation/onboarding practices.
    • EXEMPLARY PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
      Ensures efficient and effective delivery of clinical education content and programs to drive improved clinical outcomes.
      In collaboration with stakeholders, develops educational content to meet the accreditation standards of the DNV, Medicare, Medicaid and similar organizations.
      In collaboration with CNOs and the Magnet Program Director, develops clinical care and training experiences that reinforce tenants of the HonorHealth Professional Practice Model
      Collaborates with network and unit-based educators to evaluate and adjust educational programs based on evaluations and feedback.
      Incorporates virtual, simulation, and emerging technological strategies into the design, implementation, and evaluation of staff educational programs.
      Promotes and maintains a professional development program to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of network and unit-based educators in support of their role(s) and function.
    • NEW KNOWLEDGE, INNOVATIONS, & IMPROVEMENTS
      Disseminates research findings through educational programs, courses, and other activities.
      Nurtures a supportive environment for staff to engage in nursing research, clinical inquiry, quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities.
      Stays abreast of emerging technology, and advancements in healthcare delivery.
      Forecasts program and equipment requirements to ensure the organization is positioned strategically to respond to the changing healthcare dynamics and market environments.
      Supports new ideas and innovation in educational design, identifies resources for problem solving that utilize current, best evidence.
      Exhibits creativity and flexibility through times of change.
