    Qualifications

    Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from an accredited institution Required

    Experience
    1 year in diabetes education Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    State Registration Upon Hire Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    Provides comprehensive disease specific nutrition counseling, including diabetes education and management.
    Incumbent is an RD and is clinically focused and practice-based.

    • 65%Provides clinical education to meet the needs of patients based on evidence based research, the results of quality improvement project results, competency assessments, patient satisfaction surveys, and staff needs assessment. Provides direct patient care, as an RD
    • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and eating disorder management.
    • Applies clinical expertise in identification of a variety of educational needs. Utilizes principles of adult/child education to meet the needs of the learner. Further clinical development and skills mastery through involvement in educational activities.
    • Coordinates class activities, patient information, and other department duties and processes and participates in shared governance process.
