    Other Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiography program or US military Radiography training program or Completion of an accredited training program and certifications based on modality specialty Required

    Two (2) years operating room radiology clinical experience Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Radiology\AART(R) - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists Required
    AZ license from Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE) Required
    Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider course. Required


    Job Summary
    This position works under the direction of a Radiology supervisor, coordinates and monitors performance between General Radiology procedures and Operating room staff. Coordinates resources, equipment appropriateness, Physician requests, and centralized scheduling for workflow for in-house surgery and any outpatient surgery centers located on the campus. Uses sound, independent judgment to handle daily department operations and workflow. Monitors and oversees orientation and staff competency checklist for OR services/procedures. Serves as a clinical and technical resource for patients, physicians, coworkers, and Radiology Department administration. Participates in department management activities and projects as needed. Exemplifies behaviors consistent with HonorHealth core values. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the Network.

    Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, including the application of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis and venous access. Assumes responsibility for designated areas, and procedures as required. Performs image quality assurance and data entry operation using appropriate hospital software packages. Percentage of time spent performing tasks may vary with departmental staffing needs. Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictate.

    • Performs the following:
      Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, protocols procedure with radiologist as needed. Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment. Performs Radiology procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. Administers contrast materials as required. Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed. Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by procedure protocols. Utilizes RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems as needed.
    • Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily workflow for the radiology in the surgical departments.
    • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed
    • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates
    • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed. Initiates, or assists supervisor, with minor staff reward or disciplinary.
    • Assists supervisor in awards and disciplinary action as appropriate. Acts in an advisory capacity during staff evaluations.
    • Participates in coordinating and monitoring Radiology staff department orientation, modality training, competency assessment, and in servicing staff on new equipment, as needed
