    High School Diploma or GED Required

    2 years patient accounts experience and Medicare and AHCCCS billing Required


    Job Summary
    he PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE performs manual adjustments to patient accounting system. Ensures that all manual adjustments have been authorized. Reconciles accounts and moves charges to appropriate coder for final processing. Coordinates with physician offices to resolve reimbursement and other service related issues. Provides final submission of reconciled charge entry and billing to appropriate physician offices.
    • Performs account billing, research, correspondence, independent problem solving of account billing errors. Reconciles accounts and maintains account data in EPM (electronic practice management). Submits HCFA-1500 form to insurance companies on a daily basis for reimbursement.
    • Reconciles patient eligibility determination to ensure timely and accurate data collection and maintenance of Electronic Practice Management (EPM).
    • Applies basic knowledge of specific insurance regulations. Works with providers and other staff member to ensure proper coding and billing procedures.
    • Attends payor in-services and departmental meetings in order to enhance communications, and relations skills. Participates in process improvement activities.
