    Qualifications

    Education
    Doctorate A DDS or DMD degree from a dental school accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA). Must be actively licensed by the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners. Required

    Experience
    3 years experience in civilian or military practice as a pediatric dentist. Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    A graduate of a CODA accredited 2 year pediatric dentistry residency program. Required
    have a current Fingerprint Clearance card or within seven working days after employment shall apply and be eligible for a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Required

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    Under the direction and guidance of the NOAH Dental Director, the NOAH Pediatric Dentist provides clinical dentistry services to pediatric patients of ages 20 and under and to patients with cognitive and developmental disabilities of any age. Provides dental health education following established dentistry standards, procedures and practices, and gives specific dental care directions to dental staff. Responsible for the examination, diagnosis, planning, treatment and follow-up care of patients within the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners.
    • Performs all phases of direct clinical pediatric dentistry including, but not limited to, the following: examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, formulates and carries out appropriate dental/oral treatment plans and communicates plans with the patient and/or the patient’s parent(s)/guardian(s), provides dental health education and preventive dental procedures, performs various dental restorative and surgical procedures, and maintains patients’ dental records. Provide treatment using local anesthesia, inhalation anesthesia, conscious sedation and general anesthesia as needed
    • Provides dental consultations for appropriate management of patients.
    • Oversees the operations of the dental clinic. Assigns, checks and approves work activities of the dental clinical staff.
    • Responsible for full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and accreditation rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of pediatric dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality.
    • Participate in community health events, such as school screenings, health fairs, social and community events and community dental programs.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
