    High School Diploma or GED Required

    2 years of physician coding or medical billing collections/coding experience Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Certified Procedural Coder Required


    Job Summary
    The Supervisor Coding (PN) position supervises and oversees workflow and productivity of professional coders for physician coding functions. Utilize standard concepts to supervise coding and charge review processes. Assists Network Manager of Business Office with recruiting and education while maintaining staffing levels to effectively code in a timely manner. Supervise employee quality of work and productivity.
    • Oversee the staff in the coding and charge review departments and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Assists with monitoring employee productivity and quality of work. Leads team huddles. Keeps an open line of communication with staff and leadership. Develops effective and efficient processes and workflows.
    • Monitors coding, charge review, claim edit WQ’s. Assigns and monitors coders work based on specialty and volumes. Supervises coder and charge review work files for account activity and productivity as well as quality of work. Serve as a resource for coding and billing staff regarding questions and problems. Maintains level of knowledge for HIPPA, coding and payer guidelines. Monitors coding denials for trends and communicates these to leadership. Perform education to staff on new releases and updates.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
