    Qualifications

    Education
    Other Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or ultrasound & sonography. Required

    Experience
    3 years breast ultrasound experience. Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    Radiology\ARRT - Radiology Tech License ARRT Radiology (R) credential
    AZ license from Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE)
    ARRT Mammography (M) certification
    Current ARRT BS (Breast) or ARDMS (Breast),
    Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary
    The Ultrasound Technologist-Breast Health & Research Center is responsible for performing high quality, safe Breast Ultrasound and interventional breast biopsy examinations for patients of all ages, as ordered by physicians and in accordance with established protocols. This position is also responsible for breast ultrasound accreditation following the ACR Center of Excellence requirements for breast ultrasound and Breast Biopsy
    • Performs all functions related to breast ultrasound procedures.
      •Performs high quality breast ultrasound examinations.
      •Performs all necessary checks of diagnosis, prescription, and patient identification as demonstrated by documentation and feedback.
      •Able to triangulate mammographic images to obtain high quality breast ultrasound visualization.
      •Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, and pre-surgical wire localizations etc.
      •Demonstrates excellence with every patient, every day.
    • Performs various required administrative functions relating to the ultrasound area.
      •Patient records will be promptly and accurately prepared and maintained. Inputs data into department computer.
      •Responsible for charging each examination performed including revising, adding and or deleting charges as appropriate.
      •Maintains equipment and materials within manufacture’s and organization specifications.
      •Ensures equipment operating condition and communicates need for repair.
      •Cleans equipment and stocks as required.
      •Assists in inventory control and ordering supplies within budget guidelines as demonstrated by audit.
      •Compiles and reviews images, provides applicable comparison studies & prepares paperwork for radiologist’s review.
    • Prepare for Breast Center of Excellence accreditation for breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsy.
      •Prepare application for breast ultrasound accreditation through the ACR.
      •Performs other duties as assigned.
