    Bachelor's Degree Required

    5 years n the application for, acquisition and management of corporate and foundation funds OR similar experience in the hospitality industry. Required


    Job Summary
    As the VP of Events Fundraising you will be accountable for the growth, development and management of HHF's events. This includes full accountability for event sales, event services, event campaign, event performance and profitability, while also maintaining a high level of donor, sponsor and team satisfaction.

    As an expert in the events industry, one should have an excellent understanding of the role and value of events in supporting, nurture and solicitation of sponsors. Awareness, knowledge and insight of the latest event trends and innovations will be critical to success, alongside recommendations on how these factors could impact or improve HHF programs and HonorHealth.

    This position is accountable for an assigned share of the Foundations annual fund-raising goal.

    • Business Management and Strategy:
      Take integral responsibility for defining and developing HHF’s event growth plan, including identification of key objectives, strategy, tactics, risks, and industry opportunities.
      Drive the Event strategy and take lead responsibility for the acquisition, retention and growth of donors to reach annual revenue and margin targets.
      Review pricing policies and suggest ideas that drive higher revenue, drive greater efficiencies and effective resource allocation. Proven effectiveness in contract negotiations.
    • Solicitation (Sales) and Relationships:
      Work alongside the VP Major & Corporate Gifts to market and present our proposition to prospects and donors to generate interest and new opportunities.
      Take the lead in event-related RFP and pitch opportunities
      Participate in annual procurement when required
      Build strong working relationships with key vendor contacts at a senior and strategic level to learn more about other events and challenge, gaining mutual trust and respect.
      Develop mutually beneficial relationships with complimentary partners in the area.
      Lead our network and relationships with hotels and unique venues in the area.
      Able to negotiate discounted rates with key suppliers to improve margins.
      Network at industry events and associations.
    • Team Direction and Efficiency:
      Oversee the direction and management of the event team as they deliver events, ensuring they deliver on budget, deadlines and to the highest quality.
      Proactively look for new/smarter ways to improve processes and procedures to deliver a more efficient service to participants.
      Coach, mentor and lead the event team with clear direction and focus on their roles and responsibilities set to achieve targets and metrics.
      Show a driven, hands-on management style that guides event best practice and raises team performance.
      Communicate regularly with the team, keep them updated on strategic and tactical HHFoundation news, development and results.
      Consistently and proactively train team skills, knowledge and confidence. Participates in the development of a fund-raising plan and reports monthly against Balanced Scorecard measures and participates in the development of policies and procedures.
